I was so tired of being sick and tired. I knew I needed to change but was unsure of what exactly and how. This program has helped me put the puzzle pieces together and in a timely fashion.

We are all learning, and this program helps you learn with others. I've also been so motivated by the staff, and they are all so friendly and kind.

I've been able to make better choices with food and lifestyle habits. I've lost weight and gained muscle all within the 1st month.

I'm positive that in 6 months, I will be so much toner, also.

I can't wait to see myself in 6 months. I'm finally excited for a future.

– Sylvia, Radiology Tech and Park Naturalist

"Finding this program has given me a fresh perspective and a new lease on life."

"I have been on this program for over 4 months now. Prior to finding this program, I had tried everything for years to lose weight, "cope" with my numerous health diagnoses, and "settle" for what other doctors, specialists, and nutritionists told me and take more and more medications that never seemed to work but made me feel worse and gain more weight with no real answers to help me.
Finding this program has given me a fresh perspective and a new lease on life—a new lifestyle, in fact, and hope going forward. I am sleeping better, feeling more energized and motivated every day to take care of myself the right way, exercising more, and overall feeling good. I've loved the whole process—it has been amazing!
Most of all, you are treated with compassion, respect, and understanding from an amazing group of people who really know what they are talking about and can help teach you a new path for wellness that you can use for a lifetime!
Thank you for this experience."
– Sheila Catron

"This definitely was not something I had planned. This laid out a whole new plan for managing lifestyle change. It was not called a diet & exercise plan, but a lifestyle change.

I am two months into a four-month program. The program has motivated me to follow the plan to the max. I only eat what I should and found it amazing that I do feel a lot better. When grocery shopping I don't pick up anything that is not on the approved list, I only prepare meals that fit the plan. There is enough variety to keep me on track. I have always cooked, so just some tweaks to my own recipes and I am right on track.

I feel better & sleep better, I am completely off the Metformin for diabetes. The insulin injections are down from 4 a day to 2 a day. I am completely off the cholesterol medication & down from 30 mg to 10 mg for blood pressure. Having these medications change has helped with my energy level & my overall health." --Debbie

Nutrition

Nutrition Services Offered with Progressive Ethos Wellness & Longevity

Nutrition is an integral part of your overall well-being. Dr. Kelly Cox, MD, helps you navigate the vast array of nutrition options and plans available to find out what foods and supplements are the best fit for your body and health.

Nutrition Q&A

Why should I be concerned about my nutrition?

You are a direct product of the food you eat. When you focus on good nutrition, your internal organs function properly, your cells thrive, and your outward appearance looks vibrant, including your hair and skin.

What you eat directly affects your health status and your weight. You benefit from knowing how to get the right balance of vitamins, minerals, healthy fats, micronutrients, carbohydrates, and protein.

With proper nutrition, you can promote a disease-free life and ensure robust energy levels.

What is nutrition counseling?

Nutrition counseling helps you make better decisions about what to eat and how to boost your health. Dr. Cox may ask you to keep a food log to see what your diet looks like now and to help him determine how you can make changes to improve your health.

He may also run blood work and other tests to assess where you may be deficient in specific nutrients so he can better coach you on dietary changes and supplements. You’ll learn how certain foods and nutrients affect your digestive health and sense of wellness.

Dr. Cox also considers any chronic conditions you may have when providing nutrition counseling. His recommendations can help ease symptoms and, in some cases, reverse disease altogether.

How can nutrition counseling help my health?

Nutrition counseling helps you learn which foods and supplements support better body function, energy, and immunity. Dr. Cox and his team can help you identify any food intolerances or allergies that are negatively affecting your quality of life. He can teach you how to read labels to avoid these foods in the future.

Additional issues that nutrition counseling at Progressive Ethos Wellness & Longevity can help with include:

  • Weight loss or maintenance
  • High cholesterol, high blood pressure, or high glucose levels
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Arthritis symptoms
  • Cardiovascular disease

In many cases, good nutrition can help you reach your health goals. Our goal is to help you rely less, or not at all, on medications for symptom management.

Detoxification

Detoxification Services Offered with Progressive Ethos Wellness & Longevity

Your body naturally eliminates toxins, but sometimes, it just can’t keep up with the task. An overload of environmental toxins, poor food choices, tobacco, alcohol, and cleaning or cosmetic products can cause you to feel fatigued and even ill. At Progressive Ethos Wellness & Longevity, Dr. Kelly Cox, MD, provides therapies to help your body speed up detoxification so you feel revitalized and healthy.

Detoxification Q&A

What is detoxification?

A toxin is any compound or substance that can cause harm when absorbed by your body. There are many toxins in the environment, in foods, and in products.

Some of the most common sources of toxins include:

  • Environmental pollutants
  • Processed foods
  • Personal care products
  • Cleaning agents

Your body is an efficient detoxifier. The kidneys and liver are designed to filter out substances that could be harmful or overload your system, but when these organs are compromised by toxins, they can’t do their detoxification jobs efficiently. Fortunately, we have solutions for this problem.

Optimizing liver function is critical for hormone balance. The liver participates in the metabolism of multiple hormones including thyroid, cortisol, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone.

How do I know I would benefit from detoxification?

A build-up of toxins in your body can lead to unpleasant symptoms, including:

  • Fatigue
  • Bloating and gas
  • Headaches
  • Abdominal pain
  • Nausea, diarrhea, or vomiting
  • Trouble breathing
  • Memory and concentration problems

These symptoms can be a sign of other problems, including food intolerances or hormone imbalances. It’s essential to seek medical support from a holistic practitioner like Dr. Cox, to get at the root cause of your symptoms. He can rule out other causes and help you detoxify with diet, supplements, and other lifestyle interventions.

What is involved in detoxification?

Dr. Cox customizes your detoxification program according to the likely toxins. Your detoxification protocol might include:

Heavy metal detoxification

If you’ve had long-term exposure to compounds like mercury, arsenic, or lead, you need detoxification to get these heavy metals out of your system. Heavy metals can enter your system through water, pesticides, some foods, and tobacco. Chelation therapy and certain supplements can help detoxify heavy metals from the body.

Liver detoxification

Dr. Cox can help optimize liver function so it more efficiently detoxes your body. If you follow a diet high in processed foods and/or consume excessive alcohol, your liver may need some support. A liver detox effectively cleanses your liver so it can work optimally.

Dr. Cox offers other detoxification programs that help you overcome food intolerances, chemical imbalances, and more.

Physical Fitness

Physical Fitness Services Offered with Progressive Ethos Wellness & Longevity

An optimal physical fitness routine is one of the best ways to improve your overall health and proactively maintain your health. At Progressive Ethos Wellness & Longevity, Dr. Kelly Cox, MD, and his team of certified trainers can help you prioritize and optimize your fitness habits to experience the most benefit. To learn more about integrating physical fitness into your wellness plan, register for one of our seminars or webinars today!

Physical Fitness Q&A

What is physical fitness?

Physical fitness describes your strength, agility, flexibility, speed, and other aspects of your body’s movement. Dr. Cox approaches fitness from a medical perspective to help optimize your overall well-being.

He and his team of experts work closely with you to improve your fitness by recommending functional training, cardiorespiratory workouts, strength training, and flexibility work. Mind–body fitness is also part of your overall wellness plan.

You’ll also learn about your body and how it functions so you can gain a better understanding of its needs.

How do I benefit from focusing on physical fitness?

A focus on physical fitness helps your quality of life in numerous ways. Physical fitness helps with symptoms of chronic conditions and can actually help reverse them or halt their progression.

Being physically fit helps you maintain healthy organs, like your heart and lungs. Other benefits include:

  • Stronger heart muscle
  • Better circulation
  • Increased endurance
  • Improved stamina and energy
  • Reduced risk of heart and lung disease
  • Reduced risk of Type 2 diabetes
  • Lowered blood pressure
  • Easier weight management
  • Prevention of bone loss
  • Improved levels of good cholesterol
  • Improved management of anxiety and depression

If you’re not sick or unwell, physical fitness can help you feel your absolute best and deter the development of disease. Understanding how to manage your physical fitness enables you to maintain good health and improve your overall quality of life.

How does physical fitness help mental health?

Physical fitness is a known antidote to depression and helps alleviate anxiety. With it, you feel more capable and able to function properly, and you’re able to enjoy activities with family and friends.

Exercise can help you feel more capable and confident also because you have the energy to get things done. Your sleep improves, too.

How much time should I devote to physical fitness?

The good news is that physical fitness doesn’t have to take hours out of your day. About 20 minutes, most days of the week, is enough to give you notable health benefits. If you have limitations or don’t know where to start, Dr. Cox’s team can help you put together a plan and goals to improve your fitness and health. Hormones

Hormone Services Offered with Progressive Ethos Wellness & Longevity

Hormones are chemical messengers that control a slew of bodily systems, so when they’re out of balance, so are you. At Progressive Ethos Wellness & Longevity, Dr. Kelly Cox, MD, provides testing to determine hormonal deficiencies or imbalances and treatments to help you get back into balance. Register for one of our seminars or webinars to find out how we can help you achieve optimal health and wellness.

Hormones Q&A

Why should I be concerned with hormones?

Hormones are responsible for numerous bodily functions, including metabolism, body temperature regulation, hair growth, physical development, energy, reproduction, and mood. They include:

  • Adrenal hormones, which are master hormones responsible for overall health
  • Pancreatic hormones, which are critical in converting food into energy
  • Reproductive hormones, which are essential to sexual development, weight, and energy
  • Thyroid hormones, which regulate metabolism

When your hormones aren’t being produced as they should be, you can experience unusual or unwanted symptoms. You want your hormones to be balanced to optimize your health and well-being.

What causes hormones to be imbalanced?

Hormones can fall out of balance because of stress, certain medications, aging, diseases, and many other reasons.

When women go through menopause, the period of time when fertility ends, they experience a dramatic shift in hormones. The result can be unpleasant symptoms like hot flashes, vaginal dryness, headaches, and weight gain.

The aging process also affects men’s hormones. Their levels of testosterone decline starting at age 30. Men go through andropause, where the male reproductive hormones naturally decline, often resulting in symptoms such as fatigue, depression, headaches, low libido, brain fog, and sexual dysfunction.

How do you optimize hormones?

Optimizing hormones naturally and holistically involves adopting lifestyle practices that support the body's hormonal balance through nutrition, exercise, stress management, adequate sleep, and avoiding harmful chemicals and toxins.

By incorporating these holistic approaches into your lifestyle, you can optimize hormone levels naturally, promote overall well-being, and support long-term health and vitality.

Find out more about how optimizing your hormones can improve your overall health and give you back the quality of life you deserve. Use this website to register for one of our seminars or webinars today.

FAQs

Is Progressive Ethos Wellness & Longevity right for you?

No matter what is going on in your life, if you are looking to improve or optimize your health, you are in the right place.

And let us ask you a few more questions about this:

  • Are you interested in preventing a health crisis?
  • Do you feel something is wrong but don't know what to do about it?
  • Are you on one too many pills and want to stop them?
  • Do you feel traditional medical practices have failed you?
  • Do you want to make sure you age as gracefully as possible?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you are in the right place.

Can we help everyone?

We wish. We accept new practice members on a case-by-case basis. We make this decision during the Complete Wellness Evaluation. Our practice is extremely busy, and we limit the number of new members we can accept to ensure high-quality services.

Can you reach optimal health on your own?

Of course! We live in an era of easily accessible information, and you can certainly find a lot of the information you need to achieve your best health online. The problem is that the available information can be incorrect, lacking, and contradictory. This makes it difficult, if not impossible, for many to learn or decide what’s good for their health. We have all that figured out for you. Our recommendations are based on science and personalized for you.

Do we take insurance?

The short answer is no. But not because we do not want to.

Like home, car, and life insurance, health insurance in the United States is designed to help you when you have a crisis. The traditional medical model will help you with medications and procedures and may even save your life during a crisis. Health insurance is a privilege for many these days.  But, to date, it has failed to significantly improve, prevent, or resolve chronic illnesses.

Health insurance does cover so-called “preventative screenings” such as pap smears, mammograms, and colonoscopies, but these are focused on the early diagnosis of cancer and not on preventing the development of cancer. Insurance companies do not cover proactive measures to optimize a person’s health status.

What is the difference between traditional medicine and functional medicine?

Traditional medicine focuses on organs and their dysfunction. It is based on the diagnosis of a condition and then offers pills or procedures as fixes. It is typical for people to end up with multiple pills, which may cause additional problems. It has a one-size-fits-all approach. Functional medicine looks for the underlying cause of health problems, with some testing that is typically not used in traditional medicine. So, we look for the root cause even when traditional medicine has said, “everything looks fine.”
